Toronto-native Bill Amesbury started out playing guitar and singing for several bar bands, but later became a songwriter. His first hit, "Virginia (Touch Me like You Do)" became a Top Ten hit in Canada in 1974. He also became popular in England with "Every Girl in the World Tonight," "Saturday Night I'll Be Waiting" and "I Remember" in 1976-77. Signed to Capitol, Amesbury released Can You Feel It in mid-1977. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
