Neighbourhood: West End/Downtown Vancouver...in the heart of it all!
 
Funniest Radio Story: It was my very first day on air as a professional "announcer." My boss at the time was...ummm...quite the "character" shall we say (for lack of a better word). So - there I am, in the studio - nervous as anything...and in walks my boss to check on how things are going. 
 
He starts talking to me while I'm trying to concentrate on working the board, playing records, cd's, carts, the computer, etc. and suddenly I'm overwhelmed with the smell of peanut butter. 
 
Now, don't get me wrong, I love peanut butter but at the time I was suffering from gallstones and was extremely sensitive to the smell of various foods...and peanut butter was one of them. When I turned around to look at my boss I noticed he was enjoying his peanut butter right out of the container - using only his fingers! I became entranced not believing what I was seeing...my new boss - licking the peanut butter from his fingers. The silence was then broken as he declared out loud "this is the best peanut butter in the world!!!" I couldn't help but agree seeing as I'd had that particular type of peanut butter before and it was in fact a very delicious spread. Anyway, as I tried to get over my wave of nausea and get back to my show I then heard him spit in to the jar of peanut butter. When I looked around to confirm what I'd heard, his response was "that's so no one steals any of my peanut butter." I laughed uncomfortably and agreed with him, of course. But I couldn't help think to myself "as if your fingers in the jar weren't deterrent enough."

First Big Break In Radio: It was in 1988 at the age of 17. I was an on-air announcer at a community radio station at Ryerson University in Toronto called 88.1 CKLN

Dream Car: 1964 (1/2) red Ford Mustang convertible.
